AZAHARA GARCÍA DURÁN

Azahara qualified in Universidad Rey Juan Carlos de Madrid and her membership to Madrid Bar Association dates back to 2013. During the first years of her career, she led a team of 20+ in a start-up related to the litigation of passenger claims. Later, she moved to a UK law firm where she contributed to the creation of a team that defended 10+ airlines (domestic and international) in the Spanish courts.

In September 2022, she co-founded PionAirLaw. Azahara’s work is mainly focused on the defence of our clients in court, especially in relation to passenger claims. She uses her knowledge, acumen, and like of legaltech to contribute to the development of Amelia, our tailor-made software solution for the defense of passenger claims both in court and before AESA (the Spanish NEB).

DIEGO OLMEDO DE CÁCERES

Diego obtained his degree in Law in Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and is a member of the Madrid Bar Association since 2008. He has 14+ years of experience on Aviation working for UK law firms and is a qualified air accident investigator by the Polytechnic University of Madrid (he participated in the legal defense of the accidents of Spanair JKK5022, GWI9525 and A400M MSN023).

In September 2022, Diego co-founded PionAirLaw along with Azahara. At the firm, he provides legal services to airlines in a wide range of areas such as litigation, passenger rights, consumer law, contracts, regulatory and procurement, among others. Diego speaks Spanish, English and Portuguese, and he is a frequent lecturer.

SARA LÓPEZ AGUADO

Sara debuted in the aeronautical business working for the legal area of one of the most important tourist groups in our country. She graduated in Management and Public Administration at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 1998 and currently works in our team contributing to the defense of the thousands of passenger claims that pass through our hands every year.

Thanks to her extensive experience, Sara has a detailed knowledge of the airline business that contributes in decision making for the benefit of our customers. In addition, she supports the team in other areas fundamental to achieve the high success rate that we have in the defense of our clients.

ENRIQUE OLEA BALLESTEROS

Since 2014, Enrique has defended 10,000+ passenger claims in Spain, which makes him, without a doubt, one of the greatest experts in this field of Aviation Law in our country. He has a degree in Law from the Universidad de Extremadura and is a member of the Madrid Bar Association since 2013.

Enrique also has extensive experience in defending airlines before different administrative bodies in consumer matters and provides advice on all types of consultations related to passenger rights and contracts. He is also experienced in the review and update of General Conditions of Carriage (GCC).

SILVIA FRADE SOSA

Silvia has a double degree in Law and Political Science and Public Administration from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and is a qualified lawyer in the Madrid Bar Association (2019). For five years, she worked for two prominent Spanish law firms where she specialized on the defense of clients in Court.

At PionAirLaw, Silvia’s practice is mainly focused on regulatory and litigation matters, helping our clients to overcome the difficulties they encounter in the day-to-day. Special mention should be made to the work she does before the Spanish Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) where she defends the interests of our clients before inspections and files of all kinds.

ALEJANDRO PENA ROMÁN

Alejandro obtained his law degree in Universidade da Coruña and is a member of the Madrid Bar Association since 2021. Before joining our team, he specialized in compliance and litigation in a renowned legal start-up of the Spanish market.

Alejandro contributes to the defense of our clients in court and in regional and local public administrations. He is a native speaker of Spanish and Gallego.

SANDRA PINEDA CARO

Sandra graduated in 2022 from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. She began her professional experience in a multidisciplinary law firm and followed in her footsteps in the field of procurement which allowed her to expand her experience in the field of procedural law.

She joined PionAirLaw in October 2022, being the youngest of our team, and her desire to learn and her interest in the field of legal tech and aviation law are really remarkable. She brings a unique, fresh, and valuable perspective to PionAirLaw. Sandra speaks Spanish (native) and English.
